Gentamicin is a bactericidal antibiotic that works by irreversibly binding the 30S subunit of the bacterial
ribosome, interrupting protein synthesis. This mechanism of action is similar to other aminoglycosides.Gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by gentamycin sensitive bacteria, likeE. coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella ,and Salmonella spp. in calves, cattle, goats, and sheep.The side effects include; hypersensitivity reactions and high and pro-longed applicationmay result in neurotoxicity, ototoxicity, or nephrotoxicity.
